Pacific Islander & Asian American Ministries (PAAM)

In 1974, a group of Asian and Pacific Islanders from the United Church of Christ met in San Francisco to discuss and propose a resolution to our denomination for better representation of Asian and Pacific Islanders on the national leadership level. Chinese Congregational Church was one of the founding churches at that meeting. At the 19th General Synod, PAAM was recognized as a Special Ministry of the UCC. Since then, CCC has always supported PAAM.

The Pacific Islander & Asian American Ministries comprise 6 different regions across the United States & Hawaii, with over 180 churches that are designated as PAAM churches by our denomination. CCC is part of the Northern California Nevada Conference. NCNC PAAM continues to be active and supportive of the goals and visions of Pacific Islanders and Asian Americans nationwide.
